Howdy HORSE LOVERS!  Thanks for riding in for a lil visit! Being a songwriter, I often turn my life experiences into three minute condensed versions as songs. I have written hundreds of songs and have now produced eight CDs - but never about that "thing", that "fever" that I have known since I was a toddler trying to climb the tails of our three Albino mares. Ah, horses...

I've had three favorite cowboys that I've admired, growin' up: Michael Landon, as Little Joe from Bonanza; John Wayne, "The Duke"; and one which is still alive and lives just down the road from me, Jack Little, my dad. While it takes a measure of will power to get his ol' worn out body back up in a saddle, I have always been amazed at how when he would get in that saddle, his posture is perfect! And this is an old fella who is bent over and has had way too many back injuries from workin' as a laborer.  But boy, can he ride a horse! Up he goes; and the stories he can tell!  NO fear! 
There is a song on HORSIN' AROUND called "Bow-legged with No Teeth". That song is all about my dad. It will create some chuckles, but there is a whole lot of depth woven into this entertaining tango! When a beer drinkin', smokin' and chewin' fella gives up his vices to save his family-life, well, to me, that is the greatest cowboy round-up of life yer gonna get!

Last Spring I went through a bad concussion. It made it hard to walk and talk for awhile; left me with mini-seizures and lots of headaches. Going through MRI's, lots of doctor appointments, medicines and time---well it wasn't much fun. And this was not my first concussion. The first one was 3 years earlier. While healing from that one, I ended up producing a 16-song humanitarian CD as a way of finding my way back to me. Ironically, the same thing happened when I hit my head in March 2011. In my darkness of one day at a time... wondering if I was going to suddenly drop dead of a clot or brain swelling, I had to find some light---some way to stay positive.  I thought about what brought me the greatest joys in life beside my funny daughter Callie, (pictured above as a baby and with her pony Apollo) I started writing songs all about Horses and their Humans. Before I knew it, I had written 24 songs! Twelve of them are on A HORSE LOVIN' HEART and the other 12 are on HORSIN' AROUND
I hope my songs capture that special essence we Horse Lovers know and will delight the hearts and ears of those who listen to it.  Your purchase and/or telling others about my music and this site are ENORMOUSLY APPRECIATED!
